Q-SYS Designer Software: Support Policy
Q-SYS strives to bring new software solutions and features updates to better service our customers. To maximize business performance, you are encouraged to transition your systems to either the latest Q-SYS Designer Software release or the latest long-term support release.
Q-SYS will provide technical support on the most recent prior release of Q-SYS Designer Software (annotated as “End of Life – Supported”) for a period up to twelve (12) months. During this support period, Q-SYS will deliver a commercially reasonable effort to assist our customers experiencing problems with a system. After the twelve (12) months period, the prior software version will no longer be supported by Q-SYS.
Version 10
Add new Q-SYS Cores to your designs
- Core 24f combines ample onboard I/O with robust processing and network I/O for in-room processing applications.
- Server Core X10 adds a new tier to the Q-SYS processing portfolio offering 3x the processing power of the Core 24f for a broader range of centralized or hybrid applications.
- Server Core X20r offers 2x the processing power of the Server Core X10 along with higher network I/O capacity and advanced features to support mission-critical applications.
Feature License Update
The Q-SYS feature license portfolio has been streamlined to provide an improved Q-SYS user experience:
- No more need for UCI Deployment license or Scripting license to deploy custom scripts, user control interfaces or plugins. (For systems needing to run v9.x or below, free licenses are available here.)
- Consolidated Scaling license for the Core Nano & Core 8 Flex expands processing power, total network channel capacity and more to enable collaboration and commercial AV applications.
- The new 32 channel Multi-track Playback Feature license is now stackable, making it easier to order and deploy.
- Q-SYS will no longer offer Capacity Scaling licenses for new Q-SYS Cores, which will now be fully capable out of the box!
Q-SYS VisionSuite Updates & VSA-100 AI Accelerator
- Enable AI and vision-driven capabilities that enhance in-room automation, deliver Speaker Spotlight & Presenter Spotlight for remote participants, and streamline design workflows.
- The VSA-100 is required to enable the new VisionSuite features in v10 and higher.

Q-SYS Control
- New UCI feature: Flexbox lets you select group of controls that can dynamically position themselves in relation to each other based on user set parameters, such as only displaying input buttons if a source is Active.
- Improved UCI Layer Presentation: New UCI layer view displays icons and additional labeling to make it easier to identify and manage controls across multiple layers in a UCI.
- Android UCI Viewer (coming soon) enables access to Q-SYS user control interfaces on Android-based devices.
- New ‘When’ and ‘Sequencer’ Control Components add new no-code options for automating actions within Q-SYS.
- Q-SYS Remote Websocket Control (BETA): Allows front end web developers to create UI/UX outside of Q-SYS Designer, leveraging the web stack design tools of their choice.

- Native SMPTE ST 2110 audio + NMOS support allows Q-SYS to integrate professional broadcast and production audio environments with a facility’s broader AV distribution.

Version 9
Add the new NV-1-H-WE to your Q-SYS Designs
- The NV-1-H-WE is a single-channel HDMI wallplate encoder optimized for spaces where traditional surface-mount enclosures are not ideal.
- Expanded NV Series portfolio, including the NV-21-HU and NV-32-H (Core Capable), lets you customize and optimize systems by mixing and matching video endpoints based on connectivity requirements, I/O density and physical form factor.

Enable Q-SYS Control on Zoom Rooms Controllers
The new Q-SYS Control for Zoom Rooms App offers the ability to display a Q-SYS user control interface (UCI) directly on a certified Zoom Rooms Controller. Seamlessly control room devices and services connected to the Q-SYS Core including audio/video peripherals, displays, lighting, shades, environmental controls, etc., on the same pane of glass as your familiar Zoom Rooms call controls.

- Enable more robust passwords for users accessing Q-SYS Cores through Q-SYS Core Manager: Administrators may now designate minimum password lengths, password complexity requirements, limit login attempts and more to comply with their organization's security policies*.
- Administrators can now restrict file types that can be uploaded to Q-SYS Cores: Ensures that only approved file types can be uploaded via Q-SYS Core Manager for storage/usage on the Core.
- Deprecated HTTP access to Q-SYS Core Manager in compliance with modern security standards to ensure a more secure environment.
- Unapproved and deprecated ciphers have been removed for compliance with current encryption standards and best practices.
*Important Note: Updating to v9.10 will migrate the user database to a more secure password storage format that is not backwards compatible. If the system is subsequently downgraded to an earlier version, Access Control will be disabled and User Accounts will be lost.

SPA-Q Series Standalone Mode
When the unexpected occurs to your network and the connection to the Q-SYS Core is lost, ensure your SPA-Q Series network amplifier can still pass audio to a loudspeaker from a connected analog input signal.

Deploy the Core 110f, Core 8 Flex and Core Nano as an I/O peripheral and take advantage of all onboard I/O, including AV bridging, external USB audio device hosting and third-party device control ports. - Freeze your HDMI video on its current frame – Video Freeze is a new control toggle providing the ability to constantly replay current video frame regardless of its source. This enables new use cases such as a presenter using their laptop without affecting the content on screen.
Q-SYS Reflect
Q-SYS Design backup (Beta feature):
- Backup – Store up to five Q-SYS Designer file backups with runtime settings per Core, for all Cores connected to Reflect. Q-SYS Designer file is backed up upon deployment of the Core.
- Export – In this Beta release, you can export design file backups that include the initial settings that were deployed to the Q-SYS Core along with the Designer file. It will not include any settings that were changed after deployment.
- Restoration (coming in a later Q-SYS Designer Software release) – Reflect will enable restoration of Q-SYS Designer files along with the latest runtime settings directly from the cloud.

Q-SYS Audio
- New Disable PowerSave control on the CX-Q, CXD-Q, and DPA-Q Amp Output components lets you prevent amplifiers from going into PowerSave mode.
Users using Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series or similar switches that don't support 10Mbps are not recommended to upgrade Q-SYS Designer Software and Core firmware to 9.4.4 or above (9.5 and 9.6). We have discovered an issue with Q-SYS TSC Series Gen 1 and Gen 2 touch panels running 9.4.4 or above while having the LAN port connected to a network switch port which does not support 10 Mbps. Q-SYS TSC Series Gen 1 or Gen 2 touchscreen controllers connected in this way may become inoperable and require a connection to a 10 Mbps switch in order to downgrade firmware to a previous version and become functional again.

Q-SYS Control
- New CSS Render Styles: allow for more sophisticated customization of user control interface (UCI) controls. This feature allows for individual styling of each element of more complex controls, such as setting the background color and indicator color of meters based on how a user is interacting with it.
- New Multi-State Trigger Control Type: allows for more advanced buttons that change their appearance and functionality based on the programmatic state of the control. This allows for more unique states in a single control that go well beyond what a typical trigger or toggle button can offer.
- Runtime SVG generation: New LUA library enables programmers to draw runtime SVG graphics and display on a Q-SYS touch screen controller. This can enable a number of applications, such as visually monitoring WAV forms from live audio feeds.

- The Audio Delay Component now allows for entry and display in distance (US or Metric units) and is adjusted for temperature (US or Metric units).
- Services can now be advertised via mDNS using Lua.
