QSC GX Amplifiers Power the Great American Legacy of Rock-Ola Jukeboxes
TORRANCE, CA (February 27, 2020) — [De, Es, Fr] — If music is meant to be shared, no means of sharing it has endured quite like the jukebox. In turn, no brand embodies the jukebox like Rock-Ola. The name implies rock music only by happy coincidence. It’s actually the name of the founder, David Cullen Rockola, who started by manufacturing coin-operated scales in 1927 and moved into amusement machines shortly thereafter. When Alexander Walder-Smith bought the company just over a year ago, he was as passionate about Rock-Ola’s history of American ingenuity as he was about sound quality. One of his first orders of business was to specify QSC GX Series power amplifiers as the heart of every new Rock-Ola jukebox. “I had been a customer of Rock-Ola for about 20 years, supplying their jukeboxes to the market in the United Kingdom,” explains Walder-Smith. “I was very aware of…

Q-SYS Takes Control (and Audio) of Events at the Winnemucca Events Center
The Winnemucca Events Center, located in north-central Nevada, houses a popular multipurpose space that accommodates up to 5,000 people and shelters a retractable seating system. Winnemucca’s flexible interior hosts everything from car shows and rodeos to local high school graduations and sporting events. Realizing that the aging AV infrastructure needed an overhaul, Winnemucca brought in Boise-based integrator, Focus AV Solutions, who chose the Q-SYS Ecosystem to provide network audio and control throughout the venue. Focus AV chose the Q-SYS because it combines audio, video and control (AV&C) in a single processor. This significantly reduces hardware costs and results in less programming time as there is no need for separate control processors. A Q-SYS Core 110f handles the AV&C processing for the venue. This includes acting as the audio DSP for event sound…

19 Dutch Chooses the Q-SYS Ecosystem for Network Audio and Control
Located in lower Manhattan, 19 Dutch is a newly-constructed, 49 story luxury apartment complex that brings comfort and convenience to the heart of the city’s financial district. Looking to add network AV to the common areas throughout the building, they looked to the Q-SYS Ecosystem and Attero Tech by QSC to handle the task. Integrator Essential Communications designed the system around a Q-SYS Core 110f Unified processor, which handles audio and control processing for the entire complex. They chose Q-SYS because its IT-friendly architecture enabled it to easily integrate with the building’s pre-existing IT network. Further, Q-SYS combines audio, video and control in a single processor, which meant removing the need for additional, cumbersome control processing hardware. Attero Tech by QSC unD6IO-BT Bluetooth wallplates were deployed in the lounge areas and fitness…

Q-SYS Delivers Network Audio and Control at York Minster
The Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of Saint Peter in York, England, commonly known as York Minster, is one of the largest of its kind in Northern Europe. As part of an ongoing refurbishment project, the church leaders commissioned a new audio system for installation throughout the Minster. The project was complex in its need for audio clarity with both spoken word and music, while being able to accommodate a wide variety of uses throughout the building. The Q-SYS Ecosystem was up to this task, and was deployed to meet the cathedral’s network audio and control requirements. The church leaders worked alongside system integrator Wigwam, part of the SSE Audio group, to create the solution. “Q-SYS has become our go-to solution for network audio, video and control installations,” explained Phil Goldsworthy, Engineer at Wigwam. “We’ve built a wealth of knowledge on the…
