The British Museum Exhibits Success Using the Q-SYS Platform with Autograph Sound
[De] Over two hundred and fifty years ago, the first national public museum in the world opened its doors. Truly an exercise in astonishing facts and figures, since that time the British Museum has cared for more than eight million works of art, historical artefacts, and archaeological finds. British Museum Exhibitions must be displayed to their full potential, and the full museum experience must be seamless for all guests. This goal is difficult to achieve with non-standardized equipment and systems. To tackle the challenge, the British Museum team selected systems integrator and production company Autograph Sound to update the control system for exhibition audio and video content. Autograph’s long experience with QSC led them to propose Q-SYS as the audio, video and control solution to providing consistent incoming exhibition experiences. With QSC, Autograph Sound…

University of Florida graduates to the Q-SYS Platform
[De] The Reitz Union within the University of Florida heralds from humble origins – a simple campaign back in 1922 to raise funds for an on-campus YMCA. Since then, the student union has grown to over 630,000 square feet servicing over 50,000 students. Named after former University President Dr. J. Wayne Reitz, this facility continues to serve as the community center of the campus, providing services and programs to meet the needs of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Within this expansive space is Grand Ballroom, one of the most versatile areas available in the Union – split into eight 45x45-foot salons with the total area measuring roughly 20,000 square feet. The Grand Ballroom is rented out for a host of events but unfortunately, the audio wasn’t living up to the space’s requirements. “I’ll get straight to it – the audio was bad,” explained Lon Vance, Senior…

Virginia Tech selects the Q-SYS Platform to standardize for the future
[De] As a public land-grant university, Virginia Tech remains committed to teaching, learning, research, and outreach. In 2007, they articulated their long-term future vision with their Advancing Beyond Boundaries ethos. One of the main strategic objectives was to ensure institutional excellence by continually developing “the physical campus and technology infrastructure”. A part of this upgrade in technology infrastructure is the standardization of their audio, visual and control systems across campus. Rob Viers, New Classroom Building AV Manager and Building Manager, explains, “Our system was starting to age. Some of our auditoriums didn’t even have digital signal processing – we still needed to cobble together a USB integration solution for presentations. We knew this was an opportunity for standardization, and we already had a building leveraging the Q-SYS…

Mississippi Aquarium Dives into the Q-SYS Ecosystem
First opened in August 2020, the Mississippi Aquarium tells the story of Mississippi’s aquatic resources from the Delta to the coastline, delivering an entertainment experience that encourages guests to explore majestic environments, while also playing an active role in research and conservation efforts. As construction of the over 80,000 square feet of exhibits continued, the aquarium began their search for the perfect network AV system to enhance the guest experience, and they chose the Q-SYS Ecosystem, including QSC amplifiers and loudspeakers. Alabama-based integrator ESB Group designed the system around a Q-SYS Core 510i Integrated processor, which manages audio and control processing throughout the facility. Commissioning Goes Remote with Q-SYS Ecosystem
Nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Uinta Mountains in southwest Wyoming, Uinta County School District #1 enrolls just under 3,000 students. As discussions for a new boardroom progressed with AV integrator Performance Audio, geographical location and budget concerns necessitated the need for a fully remote design and commisioning process. This made the Q-SYS Audio, Video and Control Ecosystem the perfect fit for the job. A Q-SYS Core 110f Unified processor manages networked audio and control for the install. “We immediately knew that Q-SYS would be the best choice for the school district,” explained Jake Peery, Install Manager and System Designer at Performance Audio. “By deploying an integrated audio and control processor, we significantly cut down on programming costs before we even started the project. Removing the need for additional control processing…

Urban Outfitters Chooses the Q-SYS Ecosystem for their Philadelphia Headquarters
In 2011, Urban Outfitters moved into its new corporate campus, a complete redesign that breathed new life into the 100+ year old shell of a dilapidated navy shipyard in Philadelphia. The facility boasts 350,000 ft² of space for its brands including Free People and Anthropologie. The campus, which includes a number of common areas like the cafeteria, coffee shop, library, fitness center and outdoor courtyard, was in need of a more integrated and flexible networked audio, video and control (AV&C) system. QSC was up to the task with the Q-SYS AV&C Ecosystem. The audio visual upgrade was a collaborative process between DBS Audio, who had provided the loudspeaker systems and Essential Communications, who had installed the original control and processing system. David Schwartz, founder of Essential Communications was looking for a more tightly integrated AV&C solution. …
